HOW DO FULL TIME "MUMS" CHOOSE THE RIGHT CLOTHES TO WEAR IN WINTER ?

It’s the end of Autumn, all the children are settled in school once again and you are full time Mum ploughing through the endless list of chores that still need to be completed before the end of the year !

Most of us may choose to blitz the whole house with a pre-winter clean, start to de-clutter the children’s TOYS in preparation for the arrival of NEW Christmas Toys .. and some of us may EVEN start to bargain hunt for the cutest “Christmas Decorations”…

One thing we all need or often complain we do not have enough of in the winter is CLOTHES ….

TIPS ON WINTER CLOTHING ...

Winter season introduces us to ENDLESS rain, it is that time of year when we switch the heater onto the full time mode and also the most appropriate time to say goodbye to those over-worn Autumn black pumps !

When we think of Winter we think of turtle neck jumpers, lycra tights or knee high boots. Of course not everyone can follow the same fashion trend unfortunately due to us all being a different shape or size …

AN ALIEN'S GUIDE TO WINTER FASHION TIPS ;

1. Always keep a variation of Tops.

Winter is the only reason season where a woman can actually hide her lumps & bumps if she really needs to. So long jumper dresses and baggy tunics are always going to be a Must in the wardrobe. However if you do prefer to wear something more sporty, a nice sweatshirt will always do wonders on  a cheap pair of jeans.

2. Pick comfortable Trousers.

The best fabrics in my opinion for Winter are Denim and Lycra. You can never really have enough Denim Jeggings ! Although if you did want to be a little brave and wear something more glam to the annual school xmas Play – Soft Leather trousers could also work well.  Sometimes the more simpler the item the better.

3. A Shoe for every occasion.

It’s always best to have different types of shoes to sport during the Winter. Top favourite’s are low-ankle boots, good quality loafers or dark coloured trainers. The “Ugg inspired” suede boots are always a Favourite and often spotted on mums during the school run !

4. The Favourite Hoodie

Hoodies are a big comfort during the Winter and often become the one item we cannot live without, especially on a “Bad Hair” day. The only downside is that you may find yourself looking sideways into the side of your hood when crossing the road with children.

5. A Parker in Every Colour.

Out with the NEW and in with the OLD. The 60’s inspired Parker is still a must for all parents, no matter what shape or size you are. It feels comfortable, it keeps us warm and it goes with everything we wear .. well sort of ! So why not invest in a few affordable options in every colour

WHERE TO SHOP FROM ?

Thanks to online shopping, buying clothes for mums who are a little conscious in themselves is no longer a big chore! There are so many affordable shops we can shop from. The only downside of course is not being able to try clothes on in advance.

So the more research you do, the better of a chance of finding something you would like to wear as well as it being affordable…
